Cayman Islands Developments

The Cayman Islands property market is currently so strong, there is a growing need for more inventory. Because of this there are many developers jumping on the bandwagon and new projects are taking off all the time, some being reserved within days of being advertised.

Seven Mile Beach Developments

There are numerous developments planned for Seven Mile Beach:

The Grand Hyatt Beach Resort, adjacent to The Wharf restaurant has already begun clearing and soon to start construction. This will be a 450-room condo hotel of 6-10 stories. The setting is waterfront but with a mixture of Ironshore and beach.

Another well-known hotel chain, The Hilton, will also be developing on Seven Mile Beach. The CURIO Collection by Hilton will be a new luxury boutique business and wellness hotel on the edge of George Town. The beachfront hotel will have 80 suites ranging from one to three bedrooms which are also available to purchase.

Aqua is a new 10-unit development now under construction in a quieter area of Seven Mile Beach. This has an unusual design in that there will be only one unit per floor over 10 stories, all of which will have 4 bedrooms and 360-degree views.

Continuing the trend for 10 story buildings on Seven Mile Beach, we also have Seacrest. This has approval for a 20-unit condo development between Margaritaville and the Marriott Beach Resort. The plan also includes rock walls and fencing which according to Department of Environment would help “re-establish” the beach in this area.

WaterMark will be a luxury development comprising 54 exclusive beach-front units along a magnificent stretch of Seven Mile Beach. With bespoke services, fine dining, guest suites and waterfront views these will be stunning once completed.

Camana Bay Developments

Camana Bay has recently started work on OLEA, a new waterfront development that will consist of three- and four-bedroom townhomes and duplexes set in lush landscaped grounds. Camana Bay really will is the place to ‘live work play’.

South Sound Developments

There are a number of South Sound developments near completion or about to start. This has become a very popular area to build recently as it offers some beach front but in a quieter location away from Seven Mile Beach.

We have Fin which is designed in the art deco style but with the elegance of modern Caribbean living. There are 36 units in total on over two acres of ocean front land. Then we have The Montage which consists of 14 parcels of land that buyers purchase and then have built into stand-alone homes. The Montage will consist of 14 luxury family homes with private swimming pools in a gated community.

Comprised of 24 residences, TIDES features a variety of two, three and four bedroom options to suit a wide range of needs. A number of two-storey units boast impressive 18′ floor-to-ceiling windows that capture uninterrupted and stunning views of the Caribbean Sea.

Other Grand Cayman Developments

Further along South Sound, heading away from George Town, there are even more developments springing up.

Aura is a mix of 39 two- and three-bedroom condos that span over one and two storeys. With direct ocean views from almost all windows. Indigo Bay is a luxury development of 29 ocean-view villas. The two- and three-story villas provide panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea.

Not far from Aura we have Indigo Bay. A development of 29 ocean-view villas, offering a unique luxury residential community in eastern South Sound.

Not on the beach but into an area called Grand Harbour we have Arvia which comprises of 96 condos distributed across 12 three story buildings. The condos will be built around a small marina like set of docks providing every home views of the water.

Also in the Grand Harbour area there is an inland development called Downtown Reach which is offering both apartments and townhouses at very affordable prices. They have already started construction with a view to Phase 2 starting after that.

Recently announced is Harbour Walk. A new ‘Camana Bay’ type development that will offer shops, restaurants and condos. You can live, work and shop in one location. There will be a number of condos including 1 and 2 bedrooms.

Rum Point Club Residences in Cayman Kai are exclusive condominiums. There will be 36 one, two, three- and four-bedroom residences.

Mandarin Oriental recently confirmed their 100-room resort located in Beach Bay, an area further away from George Town heading out towards Bodden Town. There will be 89 residences on 67 acres on the beach scheduled for 2021.
